Mabo Orphanage
In between visits with Ministries officials, International Mutual Aid helps Cape Community school founder Gabriel Scott to begin official set up of an orphanage for Freetown street kids.
Community labor contributions and public donations have resulted in partial completion of the first two orphanage buildings on a hillside site that overlooks Waterlook. After the official registration process is complete, larger sponsors will be sought for roofing and finish work on the first two buildings, as well as future construction of additional facilities. Mr Scott has assembled a full complement of management and teaching staff for the orphanage, and is currently evaluating potential foster homes in the community
